Literature Text

I came here to give you strength,
But instead I sit here starving, exhausted, and freezing cold.
You’ve wished upon a black star and I wish I could save you,
But no bullet proof vest can save you from the bullet in your head.
No one can help you if you persist to satin yourself in white,
Staring down at your feet when you walk so you don’t have to look at the sun,
Bearing scars no one can see under clothing to keep out the cold
When the cold can’t be kept out because you’ve trapped it inside.
You’re too easy to stain even just walking outside.
I can’t bear to look at you.
This is actually legitimately a vent, so. . . Eh.

Poem (c) me.
